WHAT IS THE PIPELINE?
British Petroleum (BP) is leading the consortium of companies intending to build two pipelines to bring oil and gas from the Caspian oil fields to Europe. BP is also the operator and a similarly sized shareholder in the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli oil field and Shah Deniz gas field, which would supply the pipelines.

THE BAKU-CEYHAN PIPELINE CAMPAIGN - WHAT YOU CAN DO

Without public finance this project cannot go ahead. It is vital to put pressure on key decision makers for financing the BCP, and companies who are involved in the project. Here are some ideas for getting involved:

Outreach and publicity
Organise a speaker meeting- come to speaker training or contact us for support in organizing a meeting about the pipeline. We have information, materials and a range of speakers about different aspects of the pipeline project. If you'd like to be a key motivator in your area, then come along to the speaker training in January

Students - Organize speaker meetings, write letters, ask questions.. and more.. at BP recruitment events, and oppose BP sponsorship in your universities.

CARNIVAL AND KRITICAL MASS TOUR OF THE G8's TOP CLIMATE CRIMINALS

Submitted by Anonymous on Fri, 10/15/2004 - 00:00

15.10.04

As part of the many grassroots events sprouting up all around the European Social Forum in London, London Rising Tide today (dis)organised a very public exposure of some of the forces that are sending our planet tumbling into climate chaos.

London Rising Tide's critical mass theme was London in 2050 when sea levels may be a tad higher than at present.

Aimed at highlighting how big business and government are ignoring the massive threat of climate chaos and rising sea levels caused by the continued burning of fossil fuels in their frenzied "business as usual". Many costumes of a distinctly nautical flavour. The samba band was also out in force. Completely over the top police presence, Forward stupidity Team photographers
