Submitted by Anonymous on Mon, 07/12/2010 - 20:30

In the context of the 16th U.N. Conference of the Parties (COP16), Rising Tide Mexico and Art not Oil invite all graphic artists to participate in the Itinerant Art Exhibition for Climate Justice, which will integrate graphic arts collectives, and diverse social organizations and collectives from Mexico, with the goal of educating and inspiring people on topics related to Climate Change and the grassroots struggles which fight the principal causes of global warming and the environmental crisis.

Considering that among the main tasks in the fight for environmental and social justice is the spreading of information about the problems and issues that we face, and the resistances that are struggling against them, we are making a call out to collectives, organizations, and individuals to send us graphic art designs with the themes Climate and Social Justice, Defense of the Earth and Territory, and Community-based Alternatives for Another World".

The designs would be used to create a widespread national visual arts campaign with stickers, posters, and giant reproductions to be displayed publically and distributed by projects and initiatives of the People's Climate Dialogue and Convention, specifically throughout the COP16 Climate Caravan / Lee Kyung Hae, an itinerant tour that will visit various states and communities of the country and will install graphic art and multi-media exhibitions on its way to the 16th United Nations Conference of the Parites (COP16) in Cancun, November and December, 2010.

We invite you to send us your graphic art - if it's for stickers, it should be 10 x 14 cm, in full color, media resolution 300dpi (dots per pixel) or in vectores, and should be in one of these formats .png, .jpg, .tiff. If it's for a poster, the size should be 41 x 68cm, in two colors.

If it is for large/giante reproduction- we recommend that you take a ditigal foto of the piece, weather it's a stenil or graffiti on a wall, or a piece painted on a canvas. Or if it's a digital design that is larger than the measeurment limits of the poster size- the reproduction measurement should be for 4 by 4 meters max. Large/giante reproductions can be full color or limited to just one, and should be in the following formats: .png, .jpg, .tiff.

All of the images that we receive will be published on one same website to encourage their reproduction as many times as possible.
